Find out why our summer program is so popular!

If your child has been struggling to succeed with basic literacy skills, with or without a diagnosed learning difficulty, we may be able to help them and avoid the "big slide" that occurs with the long summer vacation from school or extended absence or reduction from academic learning. Our Reach Orton-Gillingham Practitioner (OGP) specialists understand learning difficulties and students who struggle with learning in general. Registration for summer lessons is all on-line; simply choose the weeks (Monday to Friday) and the times that work in your family's schedule.

Our One-on-One OG Language lessons during the summer weeks will be tailored to your child's specific needs with phonemic awareness, sound/symbol relationships, spelling, writing/composition skills, penmanship skills, decoding/reading, building reading fluency, reading comprehension or other literacy skills. We don’t follow a program; lessons are created specifically for the needs of your child.

If your child is new to REACH, please be prepared to send us assessments or other documentation so we understand your child's gaps in learning and can best utilize the lesson time when they are with us during the summer. We may suggest a face-to-face meeting prior to beginning our summer programs to ensure a good fit. If your child has already been registered with REACH in the previous school term, we will continue with their one-on-one intervention plan as already developed at REACH. We do our best to match our students with our amazing OGPs they have seen in the past, session times are extremely limited and we cannot guarantee placement with a particular REACH teacher/OGP.

A note about third party billing: While we do accept AFU directed funding for our current REACH students and families who participate in school term lessons, our summer program requires online registration and payment with a credit card at time of registration. Unfortunately, we do not accept RTP forms (Request to Pay) for students who are not currently enrolled with REACH in 2024/2025 with an approved billing number.

Terms & Conditions >> PLEASE SCROLL DOWN <<

All information about a student is held in the strictest of confidence. All personal information will be destroyed after the summer sessions unless specific requests have been made to hold information for school-term student files. While we may take photographs of students participating in our camp program, you may specifically request for your child to not be photographed if you wish. At no time with the child's name be attached to any photograph used.

A student who is sick is not allowed on site at any REACH centre. If a student arrives at the centre who is showing symptoms of illness, the family will be notified to pick them up right away and their lesson will be forfeited.

While we believe that we are able to create an environment where a student can be successful in learning to improve their reading, spelling and math skills, we know that there are some specific learning styles or behavioural situations that we will not be able to support. If, after reviewing your child's learning profile, we feel that we may not be able to best support your child in our centre, we may contact you to withdraw their registration and suggest alternatives.

All registrations are subject to a non-refundable $75 application fee. Withdrawals/cancelations will be accepted 30 days prior to the appointments. Withdrawal requests received less than 30 days prior to the appointments for any reason are subject to a 50% cancelation fee. No refunds or cancelations on or after the appointment start date of each week.
