Outline: Join our OG Trainers to learn how to implement the OG approach in a classroom or small group setting such a Learning Assistance / Resource centre or primary classroom. This course will investigate OG classroom procedures for providing structured, sequential, multisensory language and phonics instruction in a classroom setting, including procedures for RTI implementation and progress monitoring.  Provide instruction in reading and spelling that allows your students to be “Detectives” of the language and learn the code for mastering phonology, orthography, and syllabication. Strategies for penmanship/ letter formations, sight word teaching, alphabet sequencing, sound/symbol relationships, spelling rules, and syllables will be examined and practiced. Specific strategies for explicit reading and spelling instruction will be examined and practiced. Lesson planning and delivery of practice lessons are an important component of this course.

** Our courses are popular and often fill quickly. If you choose to waitlist for a seat, please note that you are not guaranteed a seat in that course, and your waitlist is only for that session. On the rare occasion that a registered person withdraws or moves with enough time for another person to receive materials and prepare for the course, then we will manually connect with the next person on the waitlist.
We do not automatically move someone from one waitlist to another. If you want to join us, be sure to register for a course with a seat available. If you’ve been waitlisted for an earlier course and a seat happens to become available in that earlier course, we can move your completed registration to that earlier course. Please be aware that when you are waitlisted, we do not reach out to you unless a spot opens up. **
