Join us for this targeted coursework allowing educators to be qualified to enrol and complete a supervised OGP practicum and become a specialized, credentialed interventionist and Orton-Gillingham Practitioner.
The Orton-Gillingham (OG) Classroom Educator course equips educators with foundational skills to implement the OG approach within classroom settings, focusing on structured literacy instruction and multisensory teaching techniques. The OG Practitioner course delves deeper into individualized instruction and intervention in a 1:1 / tier 3 intervention setting, preparing practitioners to design and deliver personalized interventions for students with specific learning needs, such as dyslexia.
Bridging the gap between these two levels of expertise, Reach Learning Centre offers a specialized bridge course. Bridge to OGP is designed for educators who have completed the OG Classroom Educator training and wish to advance to the OG Practitioner level. It provides additional training in diagnostic and prescriptive teaching methods, enabling educators to tailor instruction to individual student profiles following best practices in the Science of Reading. Participants will engage in hands-on practice and case studies to ensure they are well-prepared for the comprehensive responsibilities of an OG Practitioner. By completing this bridge course, educators enhance their ability to provide targeted, effective instruction, thereby better-supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Completion of a subsequent supervised OGP practicum is a necessary requirement for professional credentials.
